Why I am Running

I spent the first thirty years of my professional life serving my country as a Medical Service Corps Officer in our United States Army.  I am very proud of my service to our great country, and I now wish to serve our community as your next Delegate from District 32 with the same dedication and commitment I’ve demonstrated while in uniform.

Good leadership creates opportunities for everyone, and I will work as your next Delegate to make sure every neighborhood has an opportunity to flourish. My Army career taught me the value of teamwork and leading by example with transparency and accountability. The people of the 32nd deserve a leader who exemplifies these attributes so that the district can continue to grow.

My political philosophy is grounded in our community. Raising my family here has provided enormous opportunity for my children and made me realize a thriving community needs a robust economy and outstanding schools. I want to protect the opportunities afforded to my children and expand them for yours.

Good, old-fashioned financial discipline is the cornerstone of my economic philosophy. I will use common-sense fiscal practices to ensure District 32 has the right conditions for economic success in our community.  Every tax dollar spent is precious and should be treated as such.

I am the proud father of two Mustangs, Michelle graduated in 2015 and Jared is a Junior. Watching them grow up in the Ann Arundel County Public Schools made me realize the power that passionate teachers and a diverse classroom can have on a student. I am fortunate to serve as President of the Meade High School PTSA and have advocated for increased arts education.

In addition to my service for Meade High, I am a Congressional liaison for the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) where I advocate for the needs of military families in partnership with federal and state officials. I have served as an officer for the Russett Community Association – one of the largest homeowner’s association in the State of Maryland. I also coach football for the Severn Seminoles Youth Football Team.

I understand what it takes to make significant policy, business, and management decisions that help support our families and communities. I pledge to use the same experience gained as a Colonel in the United States Army and as a community leader to help make District 32 the best place to raise a family, own a business, and attend school. I humbly ask for your support in this important endeavor.
